Taken (2008)

: Sweet Potato

Directed by: Pierre Morel
Starring: Liam Neeson, Famke Janssen, Maggie Grace

When my niece first told me that she wanted to go see this with me in the theater, I told her no way. I wasn't even sure what it was about, but I thought, based on many past experiences of her dragging me to the movies and me hating them, that this flick was going to be one of those awful gory thrillers that she loves so much. I was pleasantly surprised that this film was much more about the action, and not at all about gore, and I ended up liking it a lot. I loved that Liam Neeson's character (Bryan Mills, a retired CIA operative) was willing to do absolutely anything for his daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace). It's what every girl hopes her father would do for her if she were ever kidnapped, and Liam Neeson, being the great actor that he is, really made me believe him and his willingness to go to such great lengths for someone he loved.

This potato satisfied my craving for sure.
